To our Loyal Customers,
Phase 1 opening begins Friday May 15th 2020. We have received the new guidelines and are currently accepting reservations in a limited capacity. In order to comply with the current orders guests MUST maintain social distancing and no groups larger than 10 people may gather. We strongly encourage the use of face masks. The staff will be working diligently to keep the bath/dressing rooms and general store sanitized but this may result in those being closed for periods of time throughout the day.
We have all been patiently awaiting the go ahead from Gov. Northam and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management to open our business for the 2020 season. We have been given the green light and CAN OPEN without violating Governor Northam’s EO53 or EO55. We will of course be following the social-distancing guidelines set forth by both the Center for Disease Control and Thomas Jefferson Health District guidelines.
The following modifications to our operation will be:
*-Taking no more than 10 individuals per shuttle
*-Maintaining the 6’ minimum distance between individuals
*-All reservations and transactions will be done in advance over the phone
*-All waivers must be brought with your group signed and turned in by one individual from your group
*-Your group must remain in the parking lot until all members of your party have arrived and one person has checked in with complete waivers for the party
*-We highly recommend that all members of your group wear masks throughout the check in and shuttle process and upon your return to your car
The above best business practices will assist us to adhere to the stringent guidelines set forth by our state and federal government bodies therefore protecting the health of our employees and guests during these unprecedented times.
We will be opening for shuttles on Saturday, May 15th. This will ultimately depend on the river running at a suitable level in order for us to safely welcome our guests back to the James.
• The office is open and ready to answer any questions you may have and of course to make reservations for the upcoming season.
In an effort to continue reducing the spread of COVID-19 we understand not everyone will agree with our decision to reopen and we understand that. As we move forward our goal is to keep the safety and well being of our staff and customers our first priority. We understand there are many levels of risk with individuals and we must advise that you continue to use your best judgement when deciding whether to participate in our activities. If you or anyone in your group is or has been sick we ask that you refrain from using our services until everyone is heathy.
In these unprecedented times we feel that getting outside in nature is very healing and comforting. We will get through this together.
Please bear with us as we navigate this ever changing situation and feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. You can contact us directly at 434-286-2338.
